Service Description
A small class with up to 4 pupils situated in South Ockendon close to London and the M25. Over two days you will learn the very basics of jewellery making. Day one we will briefly talk about the equipment used, basics of design and how a piece is put together. We will then move straight to piercing and cutting metal where you will be shown how to use a jewellers saw, files and emery. Day two we will concentrate on soldering. By the end of the session you will have made a ring in copper for you to take away with you. This is a simple introduction into a workshop and how we manufacture. Please remember that it’s a platform for you to go home and practice, practice, practice! Ideal for anyone curious about the industry and looking at a career in jewellery manufacturing. You will be working at your own bench in an actual workshop not a class room. Your tutor has worked in the industry for over 20 years and is fully qualified in jewellery manufacturing and design. Please bring with you lunch, shoes that cover your toes and make sure that long hair is tied back. We will provide copper for you to work with, solder and 6 saw blades. Any additional saw blades or metal can be purchased in the workshop .
