Soldering for Jewellers Course

Does the thought of soldering bring you out in a cold sweat? Understanding the principles could hold the key to success. In this course we get to grips with the basics.  Soldering is without doubt the most common jewellery technique that students stress over, and it’s the single most important indication of the quality of a piece of jewellery. It’s how we identify the amateur from the professional, or the cheap mass-produced fashion jewellery from the high end, well crafted hand made jewellery we aspire to make.
One full day with lunch provided you will learn a variety soldering techniques.  From closing jump rings shut to sweat soldering and soldering components together.  We will cover how to solder the basis of jewellery soldering so you can continue to practice when you return to your own work bench.  
By the end of the session you will be able to join silver together with a gas torch.
All equipment is provided as well as lunch.
