Jewellery Winter School - 3rd-7th Nov 25

Service Description

This is a five day intensive course for anyone wanting to make jewellery. You do not need to have any experience or knowledge. Teaching is relaxed and expertly given with handouts for your later reference. You’ll be working at a steady pace. With a maximum of three students in the room you will benefit from the small class and have the opportunity to ask as many questions as you want. Time: Monday - Thursday 10:00-4:00 Friday 9.30 - 12.30 You will learn the fundamental skills of manufacturing jewellery. This is an ideal course for anyone wanting to start a jewellery making career or a keen hobbyist. Modules will include: Metal forming doming and Granulation Texturing Wire drawing Fretwork Soldering Melting Metal All materials and equipment will be provided. By the end of the course you will be able to: - Design a ring for a customer or for manufacturing purposes. - Learn how to be sustainable with your making and recycle metals - Pierce a name pendant. - Make a set of stacking rings - Make a wire bangle - Solder, file and finally polish your pieces properly. You will be making in copper and brass. Silver will be available to purchase if you wish to make in silver or please bring your own. Teaching by Sappho Brammer a gradute of distinction of the British Academy of Jewellery as well as some special guests from the jewellery industry (subject to availability) This does not include accommodation.
