Casting Clean Up Master Class
With many jewellers using CAD and the lost wax casting process casting cleaning is more important now than ever before. This course is also good for anyone that sand casts.
CAD designers may not have manufactured jewellery, which in turn mean that casting is much more complex than traditional mount making. The industry is now pretty dependent on CAD and casting it’s important to know how to clean castings to retain the design finesse and to have the piece ready for setting or a final polish.
This one day intensive course will leave you confident to clean up castings ready for setting and polishing. You will learn how to cleanly remove sprues, reach difficult areas with a number of methods from thrumming to pendant motors and buff sticks.
By the end of the day you’ll have the confidence to work on difficult casts - and know how to manage CAD drawings into manageable components. You will work on a silver precast item and I welcome you to bring anything you’ve cast and have had trouble cleaning up.
